Gregory is a passionate regulatory practitioner and a leader in environment

protection and natural resource management. During his 23 years of

experience in the field he has led initiatives to solve complex regional, industrial, and

statewide regulatory issues in pollution, biodiversity conservation, chemicals, native f

orestry, land management, and water management.

Committed to serving in the public interest, Gregory has honed his regulatory craft and

employs a full suite of tools and his own insights to affect real change and meaningful

outcomes on the ground. He is an advocate of proactive regulation and effective

regulatory laws, and is adept at engaging and mobilising stakeholders to amplify reach

and influence.

As chief executive officer of the Australasian Environmental Law Enforcement and

Regulator’s Network (AELERT), Gregory utilises his passion for regulation, experience

in exercising the regulatory craft, and a natural leadership style focused on

connecting people to strengthen the network and provide value to its members. He is

particularly focused on connecting members to AELERT’s international regulatory

network partners in North America, Asia and Europe to facilitate new opportunities to

collaborate and innovate at a global level. 

AELERT is a peak network run by regulators for regulators for over 20 years and is a

well-established platform that grows our collective capabilities and regulatory depth

in New Zealand and Australia.

members and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Meet Jason Gouge, a seasoned professional with 15 years of law enforcement experience

specialising in complex investigations. His career journey has spanned various domains,

showcasing his precision and expertise in resolving intricate cases.

Having honed his skills as a detective, Jason sought new challenges and transitioned

into a National Manager role, focusing on complex safety investigations in a regulatory

environment. This shift allowed him to address critical safety concerns with diligence

and effectiveness on a broader scale.
Driven by a passion for problem-solving and

a desire to contribute more, Jason made a seamless transition to the private sector,

assuming the role of Implementation Manager for Comtrac. Leveraging his

extensive investigations and regulatory knowledge, he provided invaluable support to

customers, ensuring a seamless integration and adoption of the Comtrac solution.

Discovering a profound connection to sales and business development, Jason embraced

the opportunity to address the needs of like-minded investigators through Comtrac's

innovative solution. His dedication to simplifying and streamlining the

investigations process has been instrumental in driving the organisation's success.

Today, as the Director of Business Development, Jason continues to be a driving

force in the industry, committed to making investigative processes more efficient and

effective. Jason brings a deep-rooted understanding of the challenges faced by

investigators, striving to deliver tailored solutions that empower professionals to

overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
